Chamber of Commerce searching for companies to receive prestigious Business of the Year title
In a couple of months the Chamber of Commerce will be announcing its Small Business of the Year and Large Business of the Year.
The winners of these prestigious titles will receive their awards at the Annual Installation Banquet in April – an event which is usually attended by well over 200 people and features the swearing in of our board of directors.
It is always a pleasure to be able to recognize two of our members for their outstanding business practices, which usually include consistently good customer service, as well as a willingness to become involved in the local community.
Past recipients of this accolade have included the Pioneer Title Agency, the Landmark Café, Stan Greer Millworks and Office Smart.
All of these businesses have a reputation for providing a quality service and for readily stepping up to help numerous good causes throughout the greater Sierra Vista area.
They were all very worthy winners and we hope to be able to reward two more equally deserving businesses in 2008 also.
This year, however, we have decided to change the nomination process and try something different.
With more than 700 chamber members, it can be difficult for the general public to choose the business they feel is the best.
So this year we are asking our members to tell us about their businesses and why they feel they would be worthy of the title Small Business of the Year or Large Business of the Year.
The businesses that respond, and we hope there will be many, will then be narrowed down to a shortlist to go to a public vote.
The chamber is encouraging all of its members to participate in this process.
This is a chance for each and every one of our members to promote their businesses and their community involvement, and the rewards will be well worth the effort.
The winners of each award will receive a ‘business of the year’ banner, which they can display at their premises – what a great message to send out to customers as they walk through your doors.
Each recipient will also be featured in the Sierra Vista Herald, in the Chamber Vista, as well as on the chamber’s web site.
Those who receive this accolade will also be able to add the title ‘Business of the Year’ to their own web site, mailings, business cards and letterheads.
We are sure that any business owner would agree that these awards present a golden marketing opportunity that takes no more effort than filling out a survey.
Chamber members can expect to receive this survey in the very near future.
We hope as many as possible will take the time to tell us about their quality of service and their contribution to the local economy and growth.
We also want to hear about your businesses community support and involvement.
Did your business have an impact on the community in 2007? Did you support local, non-profit and charitable organizations?
Don’t be shy about bragging about your achievements. It could prove to be very beneficial for the future of your business.
The chamber looks forward to learning more about its members and their many achievements.
